Granada is the colonial jewel of Nicaragua. Walking the streets of this town, I recall the beautiful streets of Barcelona with the classic buildings bathed in yellow ochre, cool blues, and warm reds.

The Mombacho Canopy Tour was a blast. I’m afraid of heights. I don’t do well with them; but I thought it would be fun to try anyways. It’s really very safe.

A day trip to the Big Island of Hawaii involved hiking through the Kilauea Caldera to see lava rocks up close.

In terms of food, you’ll find lots of shrimp. If you drive along the North Shore of Oahu, you’ll see a lot of shrimp farms and shrimp trucks.

What do you think of when you hear “Hawaii”? For me it would have to be Waikiki Beach, boogie boards, volcanoes, shrimp, and sushi.

Just came back from a quick break in Hawaii. What a beautiful place. The weather was just perfect. The water is so blue, the waves plentiful. You could snorkel and scuba dive to your heart’s content.

Tokyo is a super paradise for shopping from electronics to a kimono. Places I loved there were many.

Kamakura is less than an hour by train from Tokyo. There are open air markets in Kamakura and it’s fascinating to just look at all the items for sale. For lunch we went to Soba House.

These vending machines called jidohanbaiki are everywhere in Tokyo. They seem to be in every street corner, like Starbucks in North America.

Tsukiji Fish Market is a must for a tourist in Tokyo. The sheer amount of fish will astound you. Be sure to have sushi in the little corner stores next to the market, they have the freshest fish.

A friend’s wedding was a perfect opportunity to spend a couple of days in Tokyo. My preconceived images of Tokyo included crowded subway trains, ultra modern electronics, and high speed bullet trains.

Humans are second-class citizens in the Galapagos. If you were to approach the animals, they will not run away. Instead, they just stare at you as if to say, “What are you doing on my island?”

One of the most amazing places in the world is Machu Picchu. How the Incas constructed this whole complex on top of a mountain with primitive tools is mind-boggling.

Cuzco’s center is definitely Plaza De Armas. This square is where tourists and locals congregate.

Las Vegas is one busy city during the Christmas holidays. It’s like going to an amusement park where you have to line up for everything.
