Shopping in Tokyo
Tokyo is a super paradise for shopping from electronics to a kimono. Places I loved there were many. I especially loved going to Ginza and just browsing for stuff in the Sony store. At the time I was there, they were just featuring the Sony A700 which is just now just getting widely marketed in North America.
Another place worth going to is of course Akihabara, Electric Town. Akihabara is best-known as one of the largest shopping areas on Earth for electronic, computer, anime, and otaku goods. All the neon lights just reminded me of Times Square and the movie Blade Runner (which by the way has been re-released for the last time as the Final Cut).
Yodobashi—THE store to Go to
And my all time favorite store in Tokyo is Yodobashi. Cameras galore ! You can try out anything in there. I literally spent hours there. I suppose you could do that in B&H Camera store in New York as well, but there are lots and lots of stuff here.
