A Day Trip to Kamakura

Kamakura is less than an hour by train from Tokyo. It’s worth a day trip. The best way to see the sights is to just walk. Kamakura’s main shrine, Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu, is 10 minutes from Kamakura station. There are lots to see and and eat.

There are open air markets in Kamakura and it’s fascinating to just look at all the items for sale. For lunch we went to Soba House.
